Abeka has been around since 1972 and offers a mix of teacher-led video lessons, teach-it-yourself options, and an accredited academy. They provide materials for Pre-K through 12th grade, and their curriculum has been tried and tested by Christians for over 40 years.
Abeka’s teaching approach combines traditional educational practices with modern technology. With interactive activities and digital resources, students can master topics across all core subjects in various ways. Parents love the convenience of ordering books online and accessing streaming videos to supplement each lesson plan. The curriculum also includes quizzes and tests, so parents can keep track of their child’s progress throughout the year.

Sonlight is another great Christian homeschool program that a lot of my friends use. It’s really focused on reading and is very literature-based, with many of the books being story-based, like living books.
Like Abeka, Sonlight is mostly a paper-based curriculum, so it doesn’t offer many hands-on play or work opportunities. However, my friends who use Sonlight add their own hands-on activities after the formal lessons to make up for it. Check it here!
3.BJU Press
BJU Press is a great option if you’re looking for an open-and-go curriculum. They have colorful physical workbooks and online video lessons that kids can do on their own, which is super convenient. It doesn’t require much prep, which is a big plus, and it focuses on academic rigor, critical thinking, and a biblical worldview. You can either teach the subjects yourself using their teacher’s manual or get a package with online video lessons taught by BJU teachers. This makes it really adaptable and flexible to your needs. 4.My Father’s World
My Father’s World is one of the best Christian homeschool curriculums out there, combining Classical and Charlotte Mason methods.
